Originally from Carrollton, Texas, Kayla and Krista Kummerl are twin directors and production designers currently based in the Austin area. Their directing style is largely defined by their visual aesthetic and their background in the theatre arts.
They began their journey into the film industry as production assistants on various commercials around Austin and on TV shows like Queer Eye. They were quickly drawn to Production Design as they admired the opportunity the art department had to collaborate with the director and cinematographer in telling the visual story of the piece.
Whether it is production designing or directing a piece, they strive to reveal authenticity and rawness within their work as they showcase the truths of the human experience.
